Pose then Click!

Posing in front of the photographer's camera relieves my stress. Somehow it makes me feel that, even for less than an hour of smiling, grinning, emoting and doing what the photographer wants me to portray, I am different. Not only for the reality that my image is being captured, and that I am wearing a gorgeous make-up and a good-to-see-on-the-camera dress, but also for seeing that the photographer is more than satisfied for the results. You will easily know that by seeing their smile on every click and sometimes by commenting "Impressive!". I just don't know if that is the shot they made, the high-end camera they use or the pose I did, but I believe that each one of 'em has a vital role of making  photos awesome.

I am not writing this blog to say that I am a professional model or something like that but I believe that everybody has an edge to something they really want to do in life. I am not writing this blog to say that I am one of the top photo shoot models in the country, though I wanna be one. I am writing this because someone has said that this is really my passion and I can't hide from it, that the camera really loves me. The way the lens and my eyes talk to each other is very different. It seems like they really have connection aside from the terms I just put on highlight.

A real smile can never be "photoshoppable". Show your natural and catchy smile, not the ill-will-look one. You can do it by thinking of something wonderful such as your inspiration or your most amazing experience. Just like in dramas, you can hardly cry when you do not think of the saddest and worst thing that ever happened to you or the one that you can say "I will cry when this effing thing happened to me", like the passing away of someone you love(Knock on wood three times! I think I exaggerated this one), or thinking your boyfriend/girlfriend "shitted" on you. I mean cheated. That sucks right?. But real talk, it has to be that way if you want it to be natural-looking. Why scared when nobody knows what your thinking when you strike a pose unless they are mind readers.

So if you are like me, an image model wanna-be, don't let that fear comes upfront. Anyway you can do it, if not as a career, maybe as passion or hobby. Don't mind of criticisms, just like problems, they are everywhere. Nobody is perfect. Sometimes imperfections make something better. Like that yellow thing behind the tree on the second picture. Honestly, a little girl playing hide and seek is behind that tree. Since she is a hard-headed kiddo who doesn't want to go away from the photoshoot site, at least a little part of her gown was captured that we think, made an accidental good effect on the photo. I must have thanked her for that wonderful role. Now I bet you're looking at the picture and saying to yourself "Thank you for revealing that! If not, I might be crazy by now thinking where did that thing came from."

And lastly, I wanna thank you for dropping by and reading this blog of mine. There are many to come. And I also wanna thank the photographer, Mr. Marius Agutaya and his Director, Mr. Hosea Joel Rodriguez for the wonderful work! See you soon.

  2. A real smile can never be "photoshoppable"

I couldn't agree more with you. Every human being is capable of smiling but only a few can make a smile that can launch a thousand ships. I remember reading a part of the epic "Iliad" specifically when Helen of Troy literally caused the Trojan war, and I can say that you have that smile similar to Helen's.

Oh well, I may sound too exaggerated but that's my own opinion. Keep smiling!

  3. According to this site: http://www.mythencyclopedia.com/Go-Hi/Helen-of-Troy.html This is the definition if helen of Troy, "In Greek mythology, Helen of Troy was the most beautiful woman in the world. A daughter of the god Zeus*, she is best known for the part she played in causing the Trojan War*, a story told by Homer in the Iliad] and the Odyssey]. Some scholars suggest that Helen was also a very ancient goddess associated with trees and birds" and i am really overwhelmed that my smile is compared to that of the most beautiful woman in the WORLD. No one has ever compared my smile to anyone especially to her which is a great achievement for me. This comment made me smile Mister :) Arigatou!
